COVID-19 Health Plan

Information for our patients on office procedures as of June 1, 2020

Procedures for your Health

We hope you have all been well throughout these challenging times.

As you may have heard in the news, dental procedures are included in the next phase of re-opening.

We have been told with the current risk levels being low, most dental procedures are being allowed.

We plan to start seeing patients on June 1st, but as always, were available on an emergency basis prior to that.

The safety of our staff and patients continues to be our priority and the BCCDC and our dental college have provided us with guidelines as to how we can best protect everyone in a dental office.

We have gone beyond the recommendations to ensure everyone’s safety.

The office will look a little different when you return. For example, we will be installing surgically clean air units, and we have installed plexiglass barriers for the receptionists and have received enhanced PPE. Some of these other changes include changes in protocol that our patients will have to follow.

If you have any flu-like symptoms (ie. cough, sore throat, and/or fever), please call the office to rebook your appointment. Furthermore, if you are considered to be in the high-risk category for severe COVID-19, please defer your appointment if possible.

Everyone entering and leaving the office must use hand sanitizer and sign in/out at the reception desk. Your temperature will be taken.

These are the main changes that we ask our patients to be aware of.

We have had some patients inquire about what the infection control guidelines are for dental offices. I have included a link from our dental college outlining what those guidelines are.

Lastly, Dr. John Lee will be taking some additional time off. With him being in the higher-risk category  (over 60 male with a history of asthma) for severe COVID-19, doctors have advised that he delay his return to work. In the meantime, he will continue to support his son, Janson and daughter, Anika while on the sidelines. He will make himself available to them to discuss more complex and challenging cases. He has full confidence that Drs. Janson and Anika will be able to continue providing a high level of care for patients.

Once again, we thank everyone for their patience as we move forward. We look forward to seeing everyone in the near future.

Regards,

Drs. John, Janson and Anika Lee
